SBA North Announces Staff
We are excited to announce the following staff changes at SBA North (formerly SBA Rowan):
Joe Mangum has accepted a full-time role as Director of Facility. Joe will be tasked with scheduling lessons, indoor team practices, camps, clinics, and memberships. Joe will be available for hitting lessons. Mangum was a 2007 grad of Weddington High School. From there, Joe went on to continue his career at UNCP where he was a 4-year starter earning multiple PBC Player of the week nods as well as holding records for hitting streak (combined years) and series home runs (5). Upon graduation in 2011, Joe took over as head instructor and facility manager at Next Level Sports Academy in Pembroke, NC.
John Mangum has accepted a full-time role as Director of Teams. John will be tasked with scheduling tournaments, practices, filling out rosters, and hiring coaches. John will also be available for hitting and catching lessons. John was a standout at Cuthbertson High School. Mangum signed with NC State out of high school and spent two years there, playing in the 2013 College World Series before transferring to Lander University for his final two years of eligibility. He also attended the 2016 DII College World Series. Upon graduation, John joined the SBA team at their Lake Norman location where he has spent the last five years as the facility manager, head hitting and catching instructor, and coach.
Matt Heidenreich will now take on the role of Director of Recruiting for our showcase program. Matt will also continue to be available for pitching lessons. Matt was a fourth-round pick out of Temescal Canyon High in California. During his 7-year career, he was twice named to All-Star teams and in 2015 was named Organizational Pitcher of the Year. Once his playing career was over, he spent two years as an assistant at Coastal Carolina.
